Eating exclusively raw for ten years as an experiment, Chris discovered once and for all how to smash all myths with the most successful food and fitness program ever to hit Long Island. By sharing his experience with his existing food and fitness clients at The Best Weigh Center for Ultimate Health at 108 Forest Avenue, NY, he was able to change many lives. His ten year raw vegan food experiment was the next step after teaching people how to fuel themselves for optimum physical performance, which he has been doing for over thirty years. He had already been vegan for fifteen years prior, as the founder of The Best Weigh, which houses The First Supper Raw Teaching Kitchen and Best Weigh Fitness Efficient Fitness Personal Training Studio.
Raw Chris, as he is called by loyal raw food patrons at Rising Tide Natural Market, tested hundreds of successfully sumptuous raw recipes as their raw chef for several years before opening his own culinary academy and raw food delivery program. Word of unusually significant wellness results were hard to hide. Chris and his raw team devoted themselves to providing the finest raw food to his loyal clients who had improved their health so much that they didn't ever want to go back to eating cooked food. They had discovered, among other things, that eating raw food totally changes one's relationship with food. Everyone experienced the following benefits within a short time:

The name Best Weigh was based on body composition, or one's "best weight" which should become a favorable proportion of lean muscle tissue to fat ratio. This raw food way of eating was a vast improvement over cooked, as could be clearly seen and felt in his "human performance" facility, where strength, cardiovascular, flexibility and body composition can not be faked. This "in the trenches" approach to wellness, nutrition and diet is what makes The Best Weigh and The First Supper so unique in an age where pills, powders, drugs, gimmicks, treatments and empty promises sap lives and create a health crisis. "It is not by taking something that you become healthy" , says Chris, "but by eliminating everything in your diet that cause dis-ease in the first place. The majority of people eat almost zero real nutritious food, so it is no wonder why almost everyone is always so sick and tired."
Due to community standards and practices, no progress is made against the health crisis. People think that they are "healthy" if they take vitamin pills and go to the gym, or drink green powders mixed in their expensive water. They may sleep on organic cotton sheets and meditate daily. Unfortunately, unless they are eating a raw plant-based diet they are dealing in "fringe" health practices the same way dangling a crystal can help stop bleeding instead of putting direct pressure on the wound! Once the SAD (Standard American, or now global, Diet) is removed, 99% of dis-ease is eliminated. Few are informed, and that includes most doctors and nutritionists, about genuine nutrition. Most people still believe that they can eat poorly and take a pill to fix it.
Luckily the greatest step you can take is a delicious one. Transitioning to real health requires fresh whole raw fruits, dark green tender leaves, vegetables and some nuts and seeds. These wonderful "raw materials" can be made into mouth-watering delights that replace every naughty toxic comfort food that you can think of! Chris continues: "It took me almost three years to realize through trial and error- I was on the verge of "starving" after not having cooked food for that time-especially since I had worked so hard to build my skinny body up in the first place on a vegan diet to begin with. But I finally got it! I went to "cooking" classes at Quintessence ten years ago and finally learned how to make a totally raw meal that satisfied me. A few years later and many more classes from all over the country, plus lots and lots of experimenting, and I had a repertoire of dishes that could satisfy anyone from a truck driver's kid to the toughest cooked meat-eating food critic! But that was only the beginning. I had to make the nutrition work. There was almost as much controversy about raw as there was about nutrition in general. Luckily I had my fitness to fall back on which acted as the perfect "no-lie" barometer of genuine progress. I quickly tripled my endurance on a raw diet compared to 25 year prior to when I ate cooked. Increasing endurance 300% is quite typical by the way. Most people can only hope to increase cardio 5% if they perform Target Heart Rate training. My training at the Ken Cooper Clinic proved that I was not able to run more than 1.5 miles without getting out of breath. That was when I was 19 and cooked. Eating raw for only a few years I was able, at age 45 to triple my endurance and run three times that distance as well as scale triple the amount of bleacher steps. After only a month of training! That is just one of dozens of examples that is easily duplicated among my clients."
"Cardiovascular exercise improvements are so easy now! Most people can not gain muscle easily however. I was one of them. As a teenager I was an extremely hard gainer as an ectomorph. In my thirties it was a little better after eating vegan for a while. But at 50 years old and eating raw for ten years muscle started to build much faster than in my younger days- quite the reverse of what happens to everyone who eats cooked. This, the second example is a major reason why we combine the fitness studio with the teaching kitchen. The body can not be deceived. No matter what anyone tells you, you cannot possibly build lean body tissue without drugs unless you are in 110% health. It is as simple as that. The ultimate proof. i wish I had time to exercise! I can only train a few minutes every morning at 5 AM before I start my busy day. Hopefully someday I will have time to see what would happen on my special raw vegan food plan if I could actually exercise a few hours a week like twenty years ago!"
